We are situated just off the A30 right in the middle of Cornwall so no job is too far away within the County. We will also travel to any other areas in the South West if required.
Our specially trained operators are highly skilled and all hold up to date CSCS cards. We hold ‘Safe Contractor’ and 'Construction Line Gold' Accreditation, Environment Agency waste carriers licence, up to date health and safety policies, full up to date public liability insurance and we discard of waste responsibly.
We offer a 24/7 emergency call out service for RTC’s and all types of spillages.

ROAD SWEEPING
We offer a range of sweeping options to suit all project scales and sizes from private driveways and leaves in lanes right up to construction sites, road surfacing operations and even airport runways.
PRESSURE WASHING
We have high pressure water jets underneath the road sweepers that can cater for roads, car parks and much more. Our road sweepers also have a high pressure hand lance for cleaning smaller, hard to access areas, buildings and walls.
GULLY EMPTYING
Our road sweepers are capable of emptying most types of drainage gullies and can also clear some blockages. Our gully pipes are hydraulic lift assisted for good health and safety practice which also allows our skilled operators to work more efficiently.
WEED RIPPING
We have specialist heavy duty wire rope brushes that can be attached which are capable of removing all vegetation and detritus from kerb lines and the edges of carriage ways.

Our Story
South West Sweepers was founded in 1985 by Cornish born and bred Pete Matta.
Pete started his Business after recognising a gap in the market for road sweepers while working for Western Ex. Pete was passionate about his industry and left his job to start up South West Sweepers with a second hand 451 Johnston Ford.
Pete worked hard to build his customer base and it was the contract to sweep during the build of Asda, St Austell In 1986 that gave South West Sweepers a boost and he successfully built his business and fleet from there by moving on to regular work with Cormac, Wain Homes, Fred Champion, Goonvean and Imerys who are still our committed customers to this day along with many, many other valuable customers.
Pete's daughter Julie always had an interest in South West Sweepers from a young age (pictured in the sweeper age 7 and also pictured with Pete) and in 1999 Julie and her husband Rob (pictured with Pete) started working part time for the Company , Julie in admin and Rob driving a sweeper.
After an aggressive fight to cancer Pete very sadly passed away in 2016. Julie and her sister inherited the Business. After a few set backs, Julie and Rob then took on full ownership and running of it between them and later introduced Julian Chenoweth as a director , along with their amazing team of admin staff and operators.
Between them they have maintained the successful business it always was and kept the legacy going of what Pete had built over the years. Today South West Sweepers has a growing fleet of new state of the art sweepers and equipment and they have plans to grow the business further and keep doing their dad proud.
